Which Chemical Peel Is Right for You?
There are several factors that determine which chemical peel is best for you:
1. The severity of your skin condition
2. Your skin type (oily, dry, light, dark)
3. The results you would like to achieve
4. The length of recovery time
Patients with darker complexions are more susceptible to adverse post-treatment complications, particularly concerning pigmentation. For this reason, we recommend a sequence of milder, superficial treatments, rather than a single deep peel.
Skin Needling
Skin Needling, also known as Micro-needling, Dermal Rolling and Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT); is a revolutionary advanced skin treatment that uses tiny medical grade needles to cause micro injury to the skin. This stimulates a cascade of natural processes the body uses to heal itself. The escalated activity of growth factors encourages the formation of collagen and elastin which help to give the skin it’s youthful plumpness and stability, while the basal skin cells are also given a kickstart into optimal functionality.
Unfortunately, as we age, all body processes start to slow down.
This is very true for our skin, as the keratinocytes and melanocytes of our epidermis start to malfunction causing reduced cellular turnover, thickened stratum corneum, hyperpigmentation and uneven complexion. The dermal layer of our skin experiences breakdown of the integral structural proteins like collagen, elastic and GAGS, which results in our skin losing its plumpness, tone and inevitably fine lines and wrinkles start to occur.
Skin needling, by way of micro injury, and enabling deeper delivery of integral nutrients, encourages our skin to behave in the way it’s supposed to; producing collagen, elastin and juicy plump skin cells that are found in abundance in youthful healthy skin.
